When you hire a home inspector, you are hiring an experienced professional with training and experience in the building industry. It is the job of the home inspector to not only evaluate the condition of the house's major systems and structure but also to evaluate how these systems are working together and identify any need to be watched, repaired or replaced. In addition to my certifications listed above, my background as a property inspector includes 35 years in construction, in both residential and commercial arenas, ranging from bathroom, kitchen remodels, residential and commerical additions, dental and medical offices along with the construction of a ten story commercial office building. Yet, my construction experience is further enhanced with an equivalent amount of years in the day to day on-going maintenance and management of HVAC, roof, electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems.
Unlike most professionals, you probably will not get to meet me until after your hire me. Furthermore, different inspectors have varying qualifications, equipment, experience, reporting methods and yes, different pricing. One certainty is that a property inspection requires a lot of work. Ultimately a thorough inspection depends heavily on the individual inspector's own effort.
